Exeter is a little bit of everything: a thriving city, a country town, a student pad, a surfers hub and of course a Backpackers dream! It seems to have more and more new events and attractions every week! In fact, just as Backpax hits the shelves, Exeter will be in mid-party with the Vibraphonic Festival (Feb 29th to March 16th), a foot-stomping fiesta of music, dance, poetry, film, lectures, and workshops. Try out your skills at the dry ski slope, splatter your friends in paint-balling, theres kayaking, boat trips and even hot air ballooning if you can afford it! The city itself boasts some wonderful architecture and is a joy to explore, with plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to keep you replenished. Exeter Cathedral is well worth a visit. Dating back to 1050, this divine building commands over flourishing gardens right in the heart of the city. You could pack your days full for a year and still find more to do in a city stamping its mark on the British Map. by Luke Bell NOT TO MISS l Historic Quayside l The Ship Inn l Exeter Phoenix l Parliment Street l Exeter Cathedral l Gandy Street l Exeter Ship Canal Path l Rougemont Gardens l Topsham & Exmouth MOLL'S COFFEE HOUSE Feeling peckish?
