Visitors Guide to Torquay

This sparkling jewel, nestled in the heart of the English Riviera, is one of the UK’s top holiday destinations – and with good reason; the luscious green hills dotted with glowing white villas, the promenade lined with palm trees and the glorious sandy beaches. It still has the essence of an old-fashioned resort which is blending nicely with the freshness from a modern day revival. The spectacular beauty of Torquay is just one of many reasons to visit.

An historical haven; Torre Abbey and The Agatha Christie mile are guaranteed to satiate seekers of times gone by. Shopper’s paradise can be found at the Pavilion – a stunning converted Victorian theatre now home to unique specialist shops. And there is plenty to occupy devotees of culture and the arts. Water sports and coastal walks abound; but if activities aren’t your bag, just relax and watch the bustle of the busy international marina from one of the many fabulous waterfront cafes, bars and restaurants. After sundown, the variety of lively cocktail bars and funky nightclubs to choose from means the only problem you’ll have is deciding which way to point your dancing shoes!
