Visitors Guide to liverpool

If you’re heading north you MUST fit in a trip to 2008’s European City of Culture. A multitude of events and attractions await you in lively Liverpool where culture abounds. Liverpool is home of the infamous Beatles, but they were not the first or the last performers to emerge from the city’s lively music scene over the last 60 years. You can find out more about Liverpool’s musical identity at the World Museum which is conveniently located in the city centre and most of its exhibits are free.

Combining historic treasures from across the globe with the latest interactive technology, this museum should be your starting point in justifying Liverpool’s cultural award. If museums are your thing, you’re in luck as there are more galleries and museums than any other UK city outside London. You should check out The Walker Art Gallery which holds one of the finest collections in Europe. Liverpool also has a history of performing arts, reflected by the number of theatres in the city. Culture vultures really will be spoilt for choice.
