Visitors Guide to ilfracombe

Devon’s finest, the sensationally beautiful, Ilfracombe on the North Coast is a fantastic surf spot and natural wonder. White washed houses speckle the hills and line the streets next to grand Victorian villas and terraces. Exmoor national park lies to the East, with the surf beaches enjoying the Atlantic Ocean to the West. The Ilfracombe visitor can go walking, swimming, fishing, rock pooling, horse riding, cycling, surfing, clay pigeon shooting, sub-aqua diving or simply exploring the land. Phew! The Tunnels and Hele Bay are both stunning beaches and Woolacombe and Croyde offer super surf. Ilfracombe is somewhat of a surf mecca so you’ll find the local pubs full of sun bleached hair and flip flops.

Expect some friendly watery banter! Devonshire clotted cream teas must be indulged in whilst you’re there, and you’ll find award winning takeaways, full English breakfasts as well as leisurely astronomic dinners, and fish straight off the boat.
