Blackpool has been a popular beach resort since the 1800s. Now, with a new 21st century makeover, the town invites present day backpackers to enjoy its distinctively British buzz. Kick off your stay with a visit to the Pleasure Beach, which is full of fairground fun, rip-roaring rollercoasters, and spectacular shows. If you’re brave enough, take a ride on the 235 feet high Pepsi Max rollercoaster, or turn your world upside down on the Revolution ride.

Then, why not take in the springtime sea air, with a stroll along Blackpool Beach. You can take great snaps of the famous Blackpool Tower, and enjoy some traditional fish and chips?

If you prefer more sophisticated fare, wander down to the newly opened piazza, St John’s Square, which is brimming with bistro bars, and chic cafes. As night falls, Blackpool really comes to life: paint the town red at the largest club in North West England, Syndicate, or enjoy a stylish night out at wine bar, Rumours.
